Star Wars Birthday School Treats

My boys are going to be turning 7 and they are ALL about Star Wars. So I made these Star Wars School Treats for their classmates.


I made the cookies with just a simple chocolate sugar cookie recipe or you could use a cookie mix. Then I rolled out my dough and cut them with a bell shape cookie cutter.




After I let them cool I took white vanilla frosting an a plain decorating tip. After decorating my cookies I made these tags for the treat bags:


I started out by making circles out of black card stock and scalloped scissors ( but I just turned them the other way to give them a sharp edging). Then I printed stormtroopers on office paper and cut them in a circle. After that I simply glued them together and Wrote on the back with a silver Sharpie.



To add a finishing touch I tied red wrapping ribbon around the bags an there you have it Darth Vader Cookies& Treat Bags.

Valentine's Day School Treats

Tomorrow is the School Valentine's Day Party and I had to come up with something simple, easy and quick so here is what I came up with: I made Rice Krispie treats an formed them into balls and placed them on top of an ice-cream cone. Then I sprinkled red colored sugar on them and placed them into Valentine's Day treat bags and tied with them red ribbon and a tag that said: Happy Valentine's Day. * a little side note next time I would like to use strawberry and chocolate marshmallows that way it would really look like ice-cream*

Lego Star Wars Birthday Invitations

My boys are not only into Star Wars BUT LEGO Star Wars . I search everywhere for LEGO Star Wars Birthday party invitations but of course couldn't find any! So I made them! I used Adobe Photoshop and came up with the graphs and then went to Vista prints.com and had them printed. This is such a great site they usually have many deals on FREE business cards, tote bag, invitations etc... all you have to do is pay for shipping and they fast in getting them back to you. So here is how they turned out:

Baby Shower Favors

My sisiter-in-law is having a baby boy and I offered to make the baby shower favors. I didn't want to go too crazy because I have a lot coming up this month so I wanted something simple but cute at the same time so....... Here is what I came up.


First I made Rice Krispie Treats ( recipe can be found on the box) Then the colors of the shower are blue and white ( of course) so I melted down White Chocolate and dipped them ( Rice Krispie Treats). After placing them on wax paper to let the chocolate set I melted Blue Chocolate and drizzled it over the white chocolate.


After that I made tags that said: Lisa's Baby Shower and the date ( lettering in blue) and printed them out on plain white paper. I then cut them out and placed them on small scalloped edged circles and glued them together. To finish I placed the treats in a clear bag and tied blue ribbon around the bag.

Homemade Baby Shower Gifts

I saw this cute bib at Chickpea Sewing Studio and thought it would make a perfect a baby shower gift. She has the pattern and tutorial available on her website HERE This is what my turned out like. It was super simple and easy. I wish I would have made these for my boys when they were younger because I used sooo many bibs.



I also saw this tutorial on Burp clothes HERE. What a clever idea so I then thought I should make them and they can match my bibs that I made.



So after all this matching and loving how it all came out I just had to finish off the gift with a blanket. This one I didn't have a pattern for I just cut my flannel and cotton fabric 36"x36" and sewed them together ( right side in) and then turned it right side out and to give it some strength I sewed a 1/2" seem going all the way around. On this blanket I used a start stitch but I think if I make more I will use zig zag and instead of using cotton and flannel I will just use flannel.



But over all this is a simple homemade gift.

Mario and Luigi Halloween Costume Hats

Last year my twin boys wanted to be Mario and Luigi for Halloween so I thought it would be a super easy costume to make. I found this tutorial HERE on how to make the hats. After I made the hats all I had to do was get plain green and red t-shirts ( I found mine on sale at Michael's) overalls, boots, gloves and a mustache ( which didn't stay on very long) and there you have it Mario and Luigi.

Halloween School Treats

It's becoming so hard these days to make school treats for Holiday parties because of all the allergies and school rules. So I came up with this cute simple idea. I LOVE stampin up and I had these great Halloween stamps :

So this is what I did:

I simply cut black scalloped circles out of card stock and cut out purple, and orange circles out of card stock then stamped the batty for you collections on the white card stock cut into circles and glued 1/4" wiggly eyes over top of the stamps eyes and then taped them on to lollipops and tied a matching ribbon around the stem of the lollipop. I had to make 30 of them and I think it only took me 1 hour.
