Popcorn Cake Pops

My other son's teacher LOVES cake pops so I decided to make her popcorn cake pops for her end of the school year teacher gift.  I made chocolate cake pops and dipped them in melted white chocolate with a few drops of yellow chocolate to give it a light yellow ( butter) look.  I found the container at the dollar tree and placed a styrofoam block at the bottom of the container to hold the cake pops in place.  When the chocolate dried I tied a red ribbon around them and put some yellow and white gift wrap stuff at the bottom so you couldn't see the styrofoam. End of the year Teacher Gifts

I made these for my son's teacher as a summer gift..... First I found these cute beach towels in orange and yellow.  Then I found the containers at Target ( in the dollar section)  I found the cups at Home Goods ( I love that store) and I filled them up with country time lemonade to go and I topped it off with a Tropical Smoothie gift card.  I hope they enjoy the summer it's been a great year!!!

Kit-Kat Bar Birthday Cake

I saw this cute birthday cake idea online and thought it would be perfect for my co-worker because he loves kit kats.  So I made 2- 8"round white cakes and stacked them.  Once they were cool I put a crumb coat of frosting in the middle, on the sides and top and placed it in the freezer for 20 mins to setup.  After that I used about 60 snack size kit kats and placed they all around the sides of the cake and tied a blue ribbon around it for two reasons, one it gave it some color and second I had to travel so this way it helped keep the kit kats from falling off.

Lego Valentine's Day Box

My sons' Valentine's Day classroom party is Tuesday so we made his Valentine's Day card box can you guess what it was..............LEGO! of course :)  I used a capri sun box and wrapped it in red wrapping paper that I got at the dollar tree and cut a hole at the top for the cards.  After that I cut the cardboard paper towel tub into 6 smaller pieces and glued the wrapping paper around it and topped it with a 2"circle from my circle cutter and then glued it on top of the box.  Then I printed out my son's name using the lego font I downloaded online and glued it onto the side along with hearts cut out of lego paper that I found at Joann's.  Here is the finished project:

Lego Cupcakes

To celebrate my sons' birthday at school I made lego cupcakes for their classroom and all the kids in the class LOVED them, they were a HUGE hit!

Here is how I made them:  First I found these chocolate molds of lego bricks and minifigures on ebay, then I used Wilton colored chocolate (yellow, red and green) I melted the chocolate using the microwave and poured the chocolate in the molds and let them set up in the freezer over night.  After that I found these cute cupcake liners ( pictured below) at Michael's.

After all my chocolate was set up I made my cupcakes and frosted them with vanilla icing and topped them each with a chocolate minifigure or lego brick.  They were super easy to make and super cute!!!

Birthday Balloon Wreath

For my son's 9th birthday I decided to make this balloon wreath that I saw online at pinterest ( don't you just love that website)  To make this easy wreath you will need the following:

-A straw wreath ( I found this one at michael's and used a 40% coupon)

-Balloons, this wreath took about 13 bags of 25 balloons found at the Dollar Tree

-Pins, I used regular straight pens or you can use floral pins ( but they are pretty expensive an you will need a lot to complete this wreath)

-Pipe cleaners for some extra decoration ( Optional)

(Wreath making supplies)

After you gather your supplies simply place the unblown balloons on the balloon with the pins and continue until the wreath is covered and this is what you end up with :

Birthday Invitations

As promised in my earlier post I am getting things ready for my sons' 9th birthday party.  I finished their party invitations  and this is what I came up with......

I used Adobe Photoshop to add the writing ( I downloaded the lego font from a website online for free) and images.  I printed the invitations out using vistaprint ( you can usually find deals for free prints,  just pay for shipping) or you could print the invitations out on you at home printer as well.
